MOTHER – End-to-End Project Experience
Working on MOTHER at Palisades Village in Los Angeles, supporting the team from schematic design through construction documentation and construction-phase support. Responsibilities included developing schematic design studies, producing CD sets, coordinating fixture packages, developing renderings, preparing presentation materials, and supporting construction documentation. The store also features a coffee bar, requiring close coordination with the kitchen designer to integrate equipment, millwork, plumbing, electrical, and back-of-house requirements into the overall design.
The work involved coordination with consultants, survey teams, lighting designers, kitchen designers, vendors, contractors, and the owner’s team. I reviewed existing site conditions, incorporated survey information, coordinated lighting layouts and fixture requirements, integrated coffee bar and kitchen requirements, responded to project updates, and helped translate design intent into buildable drawings. Through this process, I gained experience in how retail projects progress from schematic design and design development through construction documentation, multidisciplinary coordination, owner review, and construction-phase support.
